My name is Kiersten Heath and I’m a fashion stylist, personal shopper and blogger located in the New Jersey/NYC/Philadelphia region. Being a curvy woman myself, I am an advocate for size inclusion in the high-end and retail fashion world. Although I work as a personal stylist/shopper for everyday men and women, I have styled and collaborated with celebrities such as Grammy nominated singer Jazmine Sullivan. Initially, I thought I would go into the designing side of fashion but I soon realized (after four years of sewing classes!) that putting clothes together on a body like a puzzle was more my strength.
Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in a suburban, southern New Jersey neighborhood, I can admit to having a pretty charmed life. I’m the oldest of three children and always did like to standout, especially with clothes. To me, what you wear says a lot about your self care, self worth and self love. My Mother is the one that instilled that in me, and several other fashion guru tips. She is always fabulous and kind of my style icon (just don’t tell her that!) Despite the fact I grew up in a strict yet loving Pentecostal Christian home where my sister and I were only permitted to wear skirts and dresses, I was able to push my creativity and become quite known in my school for the way I dressed. To this day I still like to standout as a Christian women with curves and confidence.
That confidence is key and as I grew up I learned that in mostly every endeavor. Granting my heart was in fashion, I did not attend design or art school but rather graduated from Rutgers University in 2014 with a degree in Psychology. I went from teaching Early Childhood education to switching careers and entering the corporate world of finance, all the while styling, blogging and traveling. Fortunately, I have been able to visit places such as Barcelona, Spain; Paris, France; Sedona, Arizona and my favorite… London, England.
Concerning my style history, I have also been blessed – blessed enough to have had internships in New York with major fashion houses like Carolina Herrera and Oscar de le Renta. I’ve worked and personally attended several New York Fashion Week shows throughout the years, as well as Philadelphia Fashion Week events. What’s more are the lovely features I’ve had on such sites as Buzzfeed, Cocoa Fab and Fashion Bomb Daily. Although, I must say I didn’t get here on my own – my family, friends and Jesus Christ have done the majority work in creating what you see today.
This site is dedicated to the art of styling according to me. You have came to the right place if you are looking to take a big chunk and indulge in my personal fashion, learn a few tips on the way and simply procrastinate. Hope you guys enjoy, God bless!
